Robbie Myers has been named this year’s Three Rivers College Alumni Star. He will be honored at the Alumni Reunion festivities on Feb. 1, including a reception that day.
Myers first attended Three Rivers College 40 years ago and served as Student Senate President while completing his associate degree. He later became the first Three Rivers graduate to serve as a Vice President at the College.
“We are excited to honor Robbie as this year’s Alumni Star,” said Michelle Reynolds, Director of Development at TRC. “He has devoted his career to helping others and has been a source of leadership during floods, winter storms, and the pandemic.”
Through the College’s strategic partnerships, he went on to earn his bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration on the TRC campus.
“Three Rivers has been a part of my family’s life for decades,” Myers said. “I am honored to receive the 2025 Three Rivers College Alumni Star Award.”
Since his time as a student at Three Rivers, Myers has dedicated his career to public service. His various roles include serving as Butler County Commissioner for 12 years and as Trustee on the Butler County Health Department Board. His appointed positions include serving as Vice President at Three Rivers College and, for the past 10 years, his current position as the Butler County Emergency Management Director.
Myers also played a pivotal role in other leaders’ public office elections, serving as campaign manager for former Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder’s first election to state office and the late United States Congressman Bill Emerson’s last election. Myers and his family also served as missionaries for two years on the island of Saipan.
“On Saipan, we met some of the happiest and most generous people we know,” Myers said. “The cost of living is extremely high, and many people work six or seven days a week to survive. But they were always eager to bless others by giving up some precious time off.”
Through the years, Myers continued his connections with Three Rivers. He serves on the Three Rivers College EMS Advisory Committee and Fire Science Advisory Committee. He partnered with the College to bring community opportunities to the campus, such as the 2020 Missouri Earthquake Summit and the National Weather Service Storm Spotter Training, as well as speakers including physician Dr. Daniel Barnett from Johns Hopkins University and Academy Award winner Charlton Heston.
Myers stated that he has built strong relationships, has a passion for the community, and is proud of his reputation as a facilitator. He has embraced this role to connect people, resources, and opportunities, making a significant impact on the community.
Myers is married to Lori, an alumna of Three Rivers (and recipient of her own award: the University of Missouri/ Three Rivers Community College Pathways to Success Award). Their two sons are also alumni of TRC. Brennan, their elder son, works in medical information technology in Kansas City, and Reagan, their younger son, attends law school in Columbia at Mizzou. Myers said his family’s strong ties to TRC reflect their shared commitment to education and community service.
The reception for Myers will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 1, in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Poplar Bluff Campus, with the award presentation taking place at 2:30 p.m. To RSVP, contact Michelle Reynolds, michellereynolds@trcc.edu or 573-840-9077. All are welcome, and Three Rivers Raiders apparel is appropriate for the reception and the Alumni Reunion events that follow.
Myers will also be honored during halftime of the women’s basketball game, which starts at 5 p.m. Feb. 1, at the Libla Family Sports Complex. For this event, TRC alumni and former students receive free admission to the Lady Raiders game and the Raiders game at 7 p.m.
