A routine traffic stop by County law enforcement abruptly turned into a high-speed chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies and ended with a flaming vehicle in Dexter Friday, July 18. According to the warrant affidavit filed with the Stoddard County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Cody Wilson pulled over Andrew Lee Bell, 40, of Cape Girardeau at State Highway 25 and County Road 672 for operating a vehicle without a functioning license plate light...

Dexter Police July 22, 2014 Charles W. Berry, 51, of Dexter was arrested on July 17 for possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony. He was transferred to the county jail where his bond was set at $12,500 cash only. He remains in jail. Wilma Lee (Rhodes) McDonald died Saturday July 19, 2014 in a caring home in Novato, Calif. at the age of 92. A memorial service will be held at the Grissom Funeral Home in San Lorenzo, Calif.
