Sacred Heart Parish's 28th St. Patrick's Day feast brought the community together, raising funds for local charities. The event featured a corned beef meal, silent auction, and support from 19 churches and local businesses.

The 28th annual St. Patrick’s Day ecumenical corned beef and cabbage event drew a festive crowd to the Sacred Heart Parish Center on Thursday, March 13.

The traditional event offered a meal of corned beef, cabbage, parsleyed potatoes, cornbread, and a large selection of homemade desserts for $15. Children under the age of 6 were not charged for their meal. The event also featured a silent auction of donated items.

The St. Patrick’s celebration was made possible by the collective efforts of 19 Stoddard County churches, which worked together to organize and host the event. The organizers have a tradition of giving all proceeds to the Stoddard County Children’s Home, Stoddard County Gospel Mission, Meals on Wheels/The Lunch Box, and Stoddard County A.R.C.

The following churches participated: Dexter First Assembly of God, First Presbyterian, Dexter First Christian, DOC., Bernie Christian, Dexter Evangelical Free, Bernie Global Methodist, Sacred Heart Parish, Sadler Chapel, Morehouse General Baptist, First Nazarene, Risen Church, Southwest Nazarene, First Baptist, Friendship Baptist, First General Baptist, Bernie Northside Baptist, Pleasant Grove, CrossRoads Global Methodist, and St. Joe General Baptist.
