Firefighters tackle massive fuel tank blaze with swift containment efforts

Firefighters Respond to Hazardous Blaze

The Campbell Volunteer Fire Department, with assistance from the Malden Fire Department, responded to a significant fuel storage tank fire off of H Highway on Monday evening. The blaze involved storage tanks containing more than 10,000 gallons of diesel and gasoline, which were actively burning upon the firefighters' arrival.

Containment Efforts and Safety Measures

According to a statement from the Campbell Volunteer Fire Department, "There were several ruptures and small explosions that we were able to see while responding. We were able to contain the fire to the area of origin and a group of firefighters on scene were able to make their way to the shut off valve and shut the fuel off to the fire." The collaborative efforts of both departments ensured that the fire was contained to its area of origin, preventing further spread and potential damage, according to reports.
