BLOOMFIELD — Bids were opened Monday by Stoddard County commissioners for two bridge replacement projects.

Smith & Company Engineer Colter Gabler coordinated bid openings for Stoddard county roads 752 and 766 bridge replacements. Gabler started the proceedings by distributing bid tabulation sheets for both projects.

Presiding Commissioner Greg Mathis presented Gabler with a stack of sealed bids received before or on 10 a.m. Jan. 27. Gabler quickly organized them and County Road 766 bridge replacement bids were opened first. Bid bonds, prerequisite documents, and two addendums were verified before announcing bid amounts.

“Keith Simpson Contracting is the apparent low bid for both bridges,” said Gabler.

Before the subcontractors departed, Gabler said, “Thank you. There will be more to come down the pipe soon.”
