BLOOMFIELD — The Bloomfield School Board convened for its regular monthly meeting on Feb. 10. The meeting included a review of board candidates, approval of a no increase bond extension and updates on school leadership.
The board reviewed the list of candidates for the upcoming April 8 election, with David Clary and Brooke Hayes running unopposed for the two open spots, according to minutes from the meeting.
This election will coincide with a vote on Proposition A, a no increase bond extension aimed at addressing the district’s infrastructure needs. The board officially kicked off the campaign for Proposition A with an approved press release.
The district is asking voters to allow the adjusted debt service levy to remain unchanged at .2891-cents per $100 of assessed valuation. It would allow the district to borrow $1.3 million for critical facility needs, including a new bus facility.
In closed session, the board accepted the resignation of Jennifer Bolin, the elementary principal, effective at the end of the school year. Katrina Prance has been hired to fill this role for the 2025-26 school year, the board reported.
