Celebrate the season with Santa, carols, and community fun at Bernie City Park
The Bernie Chamber of Commerce is set to host its annual Christmas event at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, in Bernie City Park. This festive gathering will feature music, mingling, and photos with Santa, culminating in a tree-lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. Miss Bernie 2024, Tatum Anthony, will have the honor of lighting the tree.
The event offers a variety of activities for attendees of all ages. Santa and the Grinch will be available for photos, and the Bernie 4H Club is expected to present a live nativity scene. The Alley will offer warm drinks for sale, while the Empire Cleaning Company plans to distribute illuminated Christmas accessories to children. Additionally, Jeff Pierce will lead the community in singing Christmas carols around the tree.
Local businesses, churches, and organizations are encouraged to participate by setting up booths or offering activities such as ornament-making and crafts. Those interested in contributing can contact the Bernie Chamber of Commerce for more information.
“If your business, church, or organization would like to partner with us in any way on this event, we’d sure love to have you,” organizers said in a press release. “If you cannot participate in the way of a booth or something of that nature, please consider joining us anyway for a time of holiday community fellowship. Even a simple night of singing along to Christmas favorites as a community is a beautiful way to begin this Christmas season. If you are looking for ideas on how you might be able to participate — giving out candy canes, treat bags, ornament-making and crafts, etc. always goes over well with the children.”
