Ruby Cate
Ruby Cate, daughter of the late William Franklin Moss and Mary Effie Graham Moss, born in Mill Spring, Missouri Oct. 28, 1932, passed away in Clayton, North Carolina, Oct 23, 2024, at the age of 91 years.
She was united in marriage to Norman H. Cate of Bloomfield, Missouri, and together, they lived in many places while Norman had a full career in the Air Force. They retired and returned to Bloomfield, in 1968 and became long-time residents of Bloomfield.
As a military wife, Ruby worked in various occupations. She also enjoyed many hobbies such as embroidery, knitting and crocheting and created countless beautiful textile heirlooms. Ruby was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star where she was dedicated to her work in many offices including Worthy Matron as well as her time in fellowship with members of the organization. Her greatest joy was her family and she delighted in bringing her family together.
Ruby is survived by her children and spouses, Linda S. and Louie T., Jr. Sanders of Clayton, North Carolina, Cindy L. and Stephen R. Noble of Chantilly, Virginia; five grandchildren, (Charity, Sean, Catie, Brittany, Kaylee) and six great-grandchildren (Matthew, Joseph, Daniel, Michael, Madison, Noah).
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers (Glenn, Roy, Ira Franklin, Billie Earl, Paul Joseph); six sisters, (Mary Kathryn, Mildred Ellen, Ethyle, Clara Rachel, Paulina, Martha Alice), her husband Norman H., Sr.; and her son Norman H., Jr.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 4, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow with interment at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. Pastor Steve Patterson will officiate the services.
