A local pharmacy has added ScripTalk to the services offered to its patrons.
This program serves those who are visually or print-impaired, allowing an app to read out loud the details of their medication label.
Key Drugs can place a small electronic tag on prescription packages, typically at the bottom of the bottle, that is used by the ScripTalk Talking Labels app.
“This tag contains all the prescription label information,” Key Drugs shared in a press release. “Using a ScripTalk Station Reader (free on loan) or a Free ScripTalk Mobile App, the patient can have all their information read out loud.”
This information includes the drug name, dosage, instructions, warnings, pharmacy information, doctor name, prescription number, date and more.
“We are excited to partner with En-Vision America to offer ScripTalk Talking Labels for patients who are visually and print impaired,” said Marty Michel, of Key Drugs. “We’re always looking for new ways to help our patients and this service stood out to us as an effective way to help with the safety and independence.”
