Stoddard County Collector Josh Speakman was on hand Monday at the Stoddard County commission meeting to discuss senior citizen tax credit application forms related to Senate Bill 190.

A draft of the application, as authorized by county ordinance, was distributed for review and discussion.

Speakman said, “This is a rough draft to see what you want to eliminate or change.”

“Should we keep or eliminate spouse information and social security number?” asked Speakman.

Stoddard County Clerk Cecil Weeks suggested, “Instead of using full social security numbers... date of birth and the last four of the social may be considered.”

Weeks said, “The state of Missouri does not require full social on voter identification.”

“Do we notarize the signature of each applicant?” questioned Speakman.

District 1 Associate Commissioner C.D. Stewart asked, “Do you want the application to be notarized?”

Speakman responded, “I would like to see the application notarized.”

Presiding Commissioner Greg Mathis requested Speakman to “submit a list of questions to the commission so we can review question by question.”
