Officer involved shooting occurs Wednesday

**UPDATE 2:30 P.M.** The Missouri State Highway Patrol has confirmed a fatality in this shooting.

The next of kin has not been notified, said Clark Parrott of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The person was an individual on whom a warrant was being served, Parrott said.

No additional information has been released regarding who the individual was.


The Daily American Republic has learned there has been an officer-involved shooting in Butler County.

The incident occurred Wednesday at Camelot RV Park along Highway 67, according to Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Parrott confirmed MSHP is assisting another agency with the incident.

Members of the Division of Drug and Crime Control are also assisting, he said.

The location is near Troop E headquarters on Highway 67.

Parrott said the investigation was ongoing and it was too early to release any additional information.

In addition to MSHP, members of the U.S. Marshall Service were on scene as of Wednesday afternoon.

No additional information regarding the nature of the agencies being assisted or details about the shooting have been released as of 1:45 p.m.
