MIDWAY, Ky. — An Advance resident was with the Midway University baseball team as they secured their first regular season River States championship. Agustus Garner is a member of the 2023-24 Midway University Baseball Team. The team also claimed second berth in the NAIA National Tournament in a sweep against Alice Lloyd last April 28 and 29, in which they won both games by the combined score of 26-1. MIDWAY, Ky. — An Advance resident was with the Midway University baseball team as they secured their first regular season River States championship.

Agustus Garner is a member of the 2023-24 Midway University Baseball Team.

The team also claimed second berth in the NAIA National Tournament in a sweep against Alice Lloyd last April 28 and 29, in which they won both games by the combined score of 26-1. Midway would then go on to win the first national tournament game in program history.

The team received the Best Moment Award from the Midway University’s Athletics Department’s honors banquet.

Midway University is a private, co-educational institution located in Woodford County and part of the greater Lexington, Kentucky area. Founded in 1847, Midway University’s total enrollment (including traditional and online undergraduate, graduate, and dual credit students) is more than 1,900 from across Kentucky, the U.S., and several countries.

Undergraduate students can select from more than 25 career-focused majors. The university has 27 athletic teams including two equestrian teams. Academic and athletic scholarships are available. Of its students, 98% of traditional undergraduate students receiving institutional aid.

Located on a 200-acre horse farm and in a rural location, the campus is within easy driving distances of Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati, Ohio.
