Pedestrian killed by train at Bell City

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train early Thursday morning in Stoddard County, according to officials.

Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham said a call was received at approximately 7 a.m. by the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office regarding the incident.

Law enforcement was told the man had been struck by the train in Bell City.

“The Stoddard County Coroner’s Office responded and pronounced the individual deceased at approximately 7:50 a.m.,” Stidham said. “The name of the male is not being released at this time.”

The coroner’s office was assisted by the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. No further information is currently available.
