Southern Bank in Qulin robbed, search underway
A Southern Bank branch in Qulin was robbed Thursday morning, and a search is underway for the suspect.
According to Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs, deputies and emergency personnel were called to the scene at 9:10 a.m. after a white male in a ski mask reportedly made off with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect fled through the rear of the building. It was unclear whether he was armed.
There were no injuries reported.
“Everybody is fine. Our three staff members there...are shaken up, obviously, but no one was hurt,” said Marketing Officer Matt Bedell. He explained bank personnel go through regular robbery training exercises.
The bank was declared closed for the rest of the day, with plans to reopen it Friday.
This is a developing story. Further updates will be published as they become available.
