The Regional Healthcare Foundation celebrated the opening of its new location with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday. Dexter Chamber of Commerce members and other guests tourned the facility and enjoyed lunch as part of the celebration.
The Regional Healthcare Foundation received $453,114 from the Children’s Trust Fund to help renovate and purchase the property at 1420 Hope Drive (formerly Girl Scout Way) from the Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland.
The Regional Healthcare Foundation is one of 59 community-based organizations across Missouri to share in the $19,042,136.83 awarded by CTF through their Facility Improvement and Infrastructure Grant. These funds were allocated to CTF by the Missouri General Assembly for facilities and infrastructure projects for community-based organizations working to prevent and alleviate child abuse and neglect. The services provided to Stoddard County families by RHF’s Mother-to-Mother program made RHF eligible to apply for the funding.
A not-for-profit organization, Dexter Community Regional Healthcare Foundation was formerly known as the Dexter Community Hospital until 1999 when the operation of the hospital was leased to another corporation. Today Southeast Health of Stoddard County leases the facility from RHF. With lease revenue, grants and extensive community support, RHF serves the community through two flagship programs, Mother-to-Mother (M2M) and Prescription Drug Assistance (PDA). The Foundation also provides scholarships to Stoddard County residents who are going into or pursuing further licensing or certification in a healthcare field. The Regional Healthcare Foundation offices were relocated to the new building at the end of February.
The Regional Healthcare Foundation staff and Board of Directors are extremely grateful to Children’s Trust Fund and to the Missouri General Assembly for supporting their efforts and the efforts of other organizations in the state to help strengthen Missouri families.
