Harold Gene (Bud) Hill was born June 11, 1934, near Dudley, MO, the second son of Newman

A. and Leota M. Hill. He died May 2, 2023 at Glendale Rehab and Nursing in Springfield, Mo.

Death was attributed to complications of Parkinson’s Disease and kidney failure.

He attended Sherry elementary school in the Aid community followed by Dexter High School in Dexter where he was a member of the 1952 graduating class. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and taught eighth grade social studies for a number of years at the T. S. Hill Middle School in Dexter.

Having been raised on a farm, he loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener.

He married Barbara Sneed June 19, 1954 in Hernando, MS. They are the parents of one daughter, Pamela Kay.

He is survived by his wife Barbara of Springfield, Mo; one daughter, Pamela Kay Kinnevan and husband Kurt of Johnston, IA; three granddaughters, Kate Hanson and husband Peter of Ames, IA; Jessica Kinnevan and husband Nathan Frost of Grimes, IA; Meagen Wahl and husband Ryan of Norwalk, IA; eight great grandchildren, Erik and Alora Hanson; Locke and Leandra Frost; Tristan, Roxanne, Greyson and Grechyn Wahl. Other survivors include one brother, Norman Hill of the state of Arizona; one brother-in-law, Bob Sneed of Springfield; two sisters-in-law, Donna Sneed of Springfield, and Neva Gressmam of Salt Lake City, UT; three nephews, Jim Hill and wife Michelle of Ferndale Washington: Lee Hill and wife Karen of Prescott, AZ. and Jeff Sneed and wife Lexi of Springfield; two nieces, Patricia Harris and husband John of Holliday, UT and Natalie Sneed of Republic, MO; six great nephews and four great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim Hill and Dean Hill; one sister-in-law, Bet Hill: a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A family memorial service is planned at a later date.
