Karen Ann (Jolly) Miller of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
She was born on July 27, 1942, in Poplar Bluff to Bradley and Helen Jolly of Fisk, Missouri. She was a 1960 graduate of Fisk-Rombauer High School. On May 31, 1964, she was united in marriage to Charles Edward Miller, Sr. of Fayette, Missouri. To this union one son was born, Charles (Chuck) Edward Miller Jr.
In 1963 Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in History from the University of Missouri. She taught high school History for 15 years before returning to University of Missouri to obtain a Juris Doctorate degree. Karen was one of the first female lawyers in Poplar Bluff. For over 30 years she practiced law in Butler County and surrounding areas. She served her community as a member of numerous boards and committees. Karen was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of PEO Chapter DG.
She is survived by a brother, Bradley Jolly of Doniphan, Missouri and two sisters, Harriet Polleschultz (Chuck) of Wentzville, Missouri, and Myra Weeks (Cecil) of Bernie, Missouri. Karen was loved and respected by nine nieces and nephews, Tara (Gregg) Zeller, Bryan (Theresa) Polleschultz, Joel (Kathy) Polleschultz, Brad (Tasha) Botsch, Stephanie (Mike) Aul, Amy (Joey) Kerperien, Ashley (Andy) Beard, Stephan (Samantha) Reichers, and Brandon (Cara) Jolly. She is also survived by nine great-nephews and 13 great-nieces and one great-great-nephew.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles and son Chuck.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m. at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff. A private family inurnment will be in Fayette, Missouri later.
Memorial gifts can be made to Haven House or United Gospel Rescue Mission, both in Poplar Bluff.
