A Dexter man is facing two felony charges after his arrest during a traffic stop Tuesday.
Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner said a Stoddard County deputy conducted a traffic stop on Bradford Dewayne Marcum, 52 of Dexter. Hefner said the traffic stop occurred in Bernie near the intersection of Main Street and Mann Street.
Hefner said during the stop a search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search a white crystal substance was found and later identified as methamphetamine.
Hefner said Marcum was taken into custody and during a search of Marcum's person he was found to be in possession of a firearm. Marcum was transported to the Stoddard County Jail on a 24 hour hold pending the filing of formal charges.
On Wednesday, Marcum was charged with the Class D felony of possession of a controlled substance and the Class E felony of unlawful use of a weapon (possession of weapon and controlled substance).
Marcum is being held at the Stoddard County Jail on a $15,000 cash or surety bond.
