SHARON KAY HOLYFIELD, age 58, died Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at her residence in Jackson.
Sharon was born July 10, 1964 in Brawley, California to Thomas and Carolyn Elizabeth Ross Holyfield. Her family returned to Sikeston in 1966, where she graduated from Sikeston High School and then attended Southeast Missouri State University. She studied graphic arts and was employed by Southeast Missouri State as a graphic artist until her retirement in 2015. Sharon was a woman of strong faith and loved by her family and many friends. Her hobbies included her love for animals, dog and horses in particular; crafts involving painting and photography; gardening and cooking; attending auctions and hunting for antiques; also fishing and travel.
Surviving are one son, Steven Miller and his fiancé, Kelli Hoskins, of Scott City; her mother, Carolyn Holyfield of Bell City; one brother, Richard Holyfield of Bell City; her close friend, Denise Dowling; a bonus daughter, Jessica Balzen of Poplar Bluff; and her fur children and grand dogs, Stella, China, Hailey, China Grace, and Spud.
Her father, Thomas Holyfield, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022 at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston from 9:30 am until the funeral hour at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.
