The Dexter School District honored its retiring staff at the annual retirement tea. The event was held at the Bearcat Event Center. Ten retiring staff members were honored. They are:
Cindy Justice - Mrs. Justice graduated from Southeast Missouri State Univers1ty in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She earned her Masters of Education in 2008 from William Woods University. Mrs. Justice began her career In education
teaching 2nd Grade at Southwest Elementary from 2002 untJ12017. She then moved to teaching Title Reading and Math for the past 5 years Mrs Justice is retiring with all 19 years of dedicated and faithful service to Southwest Elementary and Dexter Public
School District
Camie Richard - Ms. Richard graduated from Three R1vers and Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of SCience 1n Education in 1993. She also earned her Masters of Science in Education with Library Media Certification from M1ssoun Baptist in 2003. Mrs R1chard began her career m education as a Title Aide In 1994 then teaching third grade later that year. She then became the elementary librarian at Southwest and Central Elementary. In 2007 . Mrs. Richard is retiMg with all 28.5 years of teaching with, faithful and dedicated service to the Dexter Public School District
Barb Long - Ms. Long began her educational career as a companion aide for 2 years Ms Long then spent 10 years as ESCE aide. Mrs. Long then moved to the Title room for 4 years at Southwest Mrs Long has spent the last 6 years at Central as a Title
aide. Mrs. Long is retiring with all 22 years of dedicated and faithful service to Southwest and Central Elementary of the Dexter Public Schools.
Belinda Delay - Mrs. Delay graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science 1n Social Studies. She later Became certified In Social Studies and K-12 Special Education. Mrs Delay began her education career with 2 years of service as an aide in the Bloomfield Public Schools. In 1999, Mrs. Delay was hired by the Dexter Public Schools as an educator. Mrs. Delay is retiring with 23 years of dedicated and faithful service to the Dexter Public Schools.
Rhonda Duckworth - Mrs. Duckworth graduated from Southeast Missouri State University With a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1997. She also earned her Masters of Education from SBU in 1999. Mrs. Duckworth has held many
pos111ons within the Dexter Public Schools with her starting in 1998 as a 1st Grade teacher, followed by 2nd grade, 5th grade, then 6th grade English. Mrs. Duckworth also spent 4 years teaching 4th grade In Evansville, Indiana from 2014 through 2018 She
then returned to Dexter Middle School as an ELA teacher finishing out her career. Mrs. Duckworth is retiring With 21 of her 25 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Dexter Public Schools
Aaron Plxley - Mr Pixley graduated from Oakland City University 1n 1994 w1th a Bachelors of Science In Physical Education and M1nor 1n Psychology Mr Pixley began his teaching career as a PE and Health teacher In Kennett He then went to New Madrid County Central in 1995 as a weightlifting instructor until 2000. Mr Pixley then began 13 years of service to Dexter High School as the weightlifting instructor He then wont to Kennett for 4 years Mr. Plxloy returned to Dexter tn 2017 as the Athlet1c Director and then returned to tho weight room again in 2018 Mr Pixley retires With 18 of his 28 years of faithful and dedicated service on and off the field to the Dexter Public Schools.
James Sneed – Mr. Sneed has served the Dexter Public Schools as a Technology wizard and master coach. He has spent all 21 of his years in faithful and dedicated service on and off the field with Dexter Public Schools.
Kris Rudd – Mr. Rudd graduated from Murray State University with a Batcher of Science in Animal Science. Mr. Rudd also holds a master in Education from William Woods University. He would like to note that he attended the school of hard knocks. Mr. Rudd has held teaching positions with Three Rivers Community College, Twin Rivers High School, Poplar Bluff High School and the Doniphan Career Center. In 2015 Mr. Rudd became the Industrial Arts teacher at Dexter High School. Mr. Rudd spent 6 of his 22 yers of dedicated service to the Dexter Public Schools.
Summer McGowen – Mrs McGowen graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Batcher of Science in Elementary Education, Master of Arts in School Counseling of Education Specialist in Counseling Education. McGowan spent 13 years with the Bernie School District as a teaching reading coach, process coordinator, psych examiner and elementary school counselor. McGowan retire with 5 of her 18 years spent in dedicated and faithful service to the Dexter School District.
Stacy Roe-Goode – Goode worked for the Poplar Bluff, Bloomfield, Advance and Dexter School Districts as a teacher, counselor and psych examiner. Goode spent eight years of dedicated and faithful service to the Dexter School District.
