Loudean Starnes, age 93, departed from this earth on December 3, 2020. She was surrounded by her beloved family at her home.
She is the daughter of Willie and Bessie Wallace. Her parents preceded her in death. Her husband, Leon “Pete” Starnes preceded her in death December 13, 1972. She is survived by three daughters, LeVeda Dean Scates (Gary), LeaVera Dean Thurman (Robert), LeaVern Dean Dabbs, six grandchildren: Barry McKuin, Ben Mckuin, Robert Thurman III, Andee Thurman Bonifield, Kristi Dabbs Kennedy Richard Dabbs Jr. and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was of the Protestant faith and was baptized in the Church of Christ. She retired from Gossard Garment Factory and later worked at Doctors Hospital in Poplar Bluff. She was a strong independent woman. She was an avid gardener who push mowed her yard until she was ninety years old. She was an accomplished seamstress for her daughters and many other people. She was an excellent cook and best known for her pies and pastries.
A family graveside service was conducted at Ash Hill Cemetery.
