Ben Godwin, Director of the Stoddard County Health Center. Godwin has confirmed 17 new cases of COVID-19 along with 10 recoveries. The county now sits at 638 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 124 active cases, 496 recoveries and 18 deaths.

There are 102 confirmed cases associated with the nursing home and assisted living center outbreaks. There are 29 actives cases related to the outbreaks with 59 recoveries and 14 deaths.Godwin also released a community breakdown of the active cases of COVID-19. These numbers do not include the nursing home and assisted living center outbreaks. Dexter has 44 active cases, Puxico 15, Bernie 13, Bloomfield 10, Advance 8, Dudley and Essex with 2 and Bell City with 1.

“Keep in mind the situation is very serious in all of Stoddard County, not just the communities listed,” said Godwin. “In order to best protect yourselves, you should treat everyone as they may be a source of COVID-19 and you should distance yourselves accordingly. It is immensely important that you please continue to practice social distancing measures.”

Godwin also highly recommended wearing a mask while in public to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
