The Stoddard County SB40 Board has agreed to lease the former Progressive Industries building to QC Supply at a special meeting Thursday evening.

QC Supply is headquartered in Schuyler, Nebraska and has 29 retail stores across the Midwest and South, including Poplar Bluff. The company has three regional distribution centers located in Nebraska, Iowa and North Carolina.

QC Supply sells livestock supplies, equipment and fans, cleaners, disinfectants, pet supplies and clothing.

Board Chairman Josh Hester said a rent of $5,000 a month was asked for by the board. However, Hester said the board was required to pay a broker representing QC Supply up front. The broker received three percent commission on the deal. QC Supply then offered to pay a rent of $5,200 a month as part of a reimbursement to the board.

The lease, which is for a time frame of 36 months, carries with it an option to renew with a three percent rent increase. Additionally the SB40 Board will be able to maintain an office inside the building. The SB40 Board also voted to add an amendment to the lease capping the commission at three percent upon renewal.

“We are excited we can provide a place to bring new business not only to Dexter but to Stoddard County,” said Hester. “We look forward to a long partnership with QC.”

QC Supply will begin paying rent in 45 days or when the doors open for business, whichever comes first.
