Michael Wayne Pruitt, son of the late George C. VanPool and Wilma J. Courter VanPool, was born on March 17, 1950 in Malden and departed this life on January 4, 2020 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 69 years.
Mr. Pruitt owned a collision repair shop and was a resident of Bloomfield, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses and riding his Harley.
On February 7, 1970, in Libertyville, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Brenda Fotsch. Mrs. Pruitt survives of their home in Bloomfield.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Alysia Pruitt-Gregg and husband Bradley of Columbia, Tennessee and Melinda Pruitt of Bloomfield; by his sister, Anita Duba of Bloomfield; by four grandchildren, Esther Gregg, Alexis Gregg, Nicodemus Gregg, and Effigenia Gregg; and by eleven nieces and nephews.
Other than by his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Darris Gene Pruitt.
Friends may call at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A memorial service will then be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Brad Gregg officiating.
