The Stoddard County ARC awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Cassidy Bess (right). The local ARC awards scholarships to Stoddard County residents who will be attending college and working toward a degree in special education or a related field that will enable them to work with developmentally disabled individuals. Recipients must be taking at least 12 hours per semester and maintain a 3.0 grade point average. Bess is a graduate of Dexter High School and is a special education major at Murray State University. Bess has worked with special needs children at church and at school. She is pursuing a special education major so she is able to help children in need of that extra care. Stoddard County ARC Board Member Vicki Windham is presenting the scholarship on behalf of the ARC.
