Cleanup continues in Dexter following Wednesday evening storms
Damage is still being accessed in Dexter as a result of storms Wednesday evening. West Grant Street remained closed for a time Thursday morning at the intersection with Forrest Street due to downed limbs and power lines.
According to Dexter Fire Chief Don Seymore, the Dexter Fire Department responded to approximately 30 calls in Dexter. Seymore stated a large quantity of trees were down along with some power lines. The fire department is continuing to assist with the removal of the trees and access damage. Seven houses in Dexter received significant damage from when trees toppled onto them. No injuries were reported in Dexter. Seymore said the department responded to two calls of limbs and power lines down outside the city limits.
Stoddard County Emergency Management Director Kent Polsgrove stated he was contacting the communities in the county to access damage.
