Margaret Nellenna Mattison, daughter of the late Grady M. Weldon and Rachel Mae Wilson Weldon, was born on December 11, 1935 in Whitewater, Mo. and departed this life on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter at the age of 83 years...

Margaret Nellenna Mattison, daughter of the late Grady M. Weldon and Rachel Mae Wilson Weldon, was born on December 11, 1935 in Whitewater, Mo. and departed this life on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter at the age of 83 years.

Mrs. Mattison was the former owner of Margaret’s Tropical Fish Shop from 1968 to 1986. She attended First General Baptist Church in Dexter and was a resident of Dexter.

On May 24, 1952, in Sikeston, Mo., she was united in marriage to Granvell Gordon Mattison, Sr. Mr. Mattison preceded her in death on March 24, 1994.

She is survived by two grandsons, Jason Mattison and Shawn Mattison; by two granddaughters, Amy Taylor and Ashley Mansker; by one daughter-in-law, Debby Mattison Triplett; by one brother, Junior Weldon of Imperial, Mo.; and by eleven great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gordon Mattison, Jr.; by her daughter, Rene’ Lefler; by three brothers, Edward Weldon, Charles Weldon and John Weldon; and by her sister, Ruth Ann Hartman.

Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Funeral services were conduced in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.

Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all arrangements.
