The final two families in need of adoption through The Daily Statesman's SOS program have been guaranteed a Merry Christmas after members of Dexter's First Presbyterian Church stepped forward on Monday to take care of their needs this holiday season.

A total of 42 families were assisted this year through the newspaper's annual Christmas project. Individuals, churches, families, organizations, businesses and civic groups generously gave of their time and their resources to make certain that our list of families would be taken care of this holiday season.

The Daily Statesman extends a sincere thanks to all who played a part in making this yet another successful event.

"Without the caring hearts of so many within the Stoddard County community," stated Editor Noreen Hyslop, "this project would never be the success that it is. We so much appreciate each and every contribution."
