Boots and warm costumes were the order of the night on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, as colorfully-clad children and adults wandered the streets in north Stoddard County, celebrating Halloween.

Approximately 110 children visited the Advance Community Library location, where volunteers were set up outside between the library and the gym, distributing candy and pencils.

In other locations, such as Trinity Methodist Church in Bloomfield, a brightly-decorated "trunk or treat" location was set up inside the fellowship hall, where children and parents shared hotdogs and received treats.

In the Bell City School District, Halloween was celebrated on a school day, and teachers joined the fun by also dressing up in costumes, ranging from a pair of cat ears to a full, handmade science-fiction "Star Lord" costume, created by talented art teacher Jarret Bollinger.

Judging from the size of one child's pillowcase full of treats, the candy will easily last until next Halloween!
