DEXTER, Mo. - The Dexter middle school girls basketball program earned a split against Jackson Tuesday with the eighth grade winning 52-26 and the seventh grade suffering a 72-38 loss.
Sydney Asberry paced Dexter's offense in the sventh grade contest with 10 points. Karley Keirsey added nine more points and Mikayla Dodson calculated seven points for the Bearcats.
Madison Lambert was the only Jackson seventh grader to finish in double digits. She scored 19 points.
10 other Jackson seventh graders recorded at least one field goal.
Alexa Werneck tallied 33 of Dexter's 72 points in the eighth grade contest. Margo Nea contribued 21 more and Shea Baker scored 10 points.
The Dexter middle school girls have three games remaining this season. The Dexter girls host Poplar Bluff Friday, Kennett Nov. 10 and Sikeston Nov. 12. All three games begin at 6 p.m.
