Shirley A. Gwin Ham, daughter of the late William Alexander and Willa Jeffrey

Proffer Gwin, was born in Bloomfield on July 8, 1935, and died at the Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Oct. 18, 2015, at the age of 80.

Mrs. Ham had lived in Bloomfield all of her life. She was a member of the

First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield. She had worked as a waitress at

Tucker's Restaurant in Bloomfield and was an active member of the Dexter

Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, sewing and crocheting.

On Oct. 18, 1952, she was married to W. A. "Bill" Ham in Piggott, Ark.

He preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1997.

Surviving are three daughters, Vicki L. Bridges of Bloomfield, Danita "Nita" A. Bedell of Nassau Bay, Texas, and Denise A. Moline of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild;

and her special friend, Robert Kirkland of Dexter. Other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Deloris Mae Gwin in 1992 and one brother, James Lee Gwin in 1989.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at

the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Watkins and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Biggs of Dexter officiating. Interment followed in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter was in charge of all arrangements.
