William Edward "Bill" Woods, son of the late Homer F. and Golda Mae Etheridge Woods, was born in Bollinger County, Missouri on Sept. 4, 1945, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Oct. 2, 2015, at the age of 70. He had lived in Dexter most of his life. He was a member of the Elk General Baptist Church near Broseley and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and picking up pecans...

William Edward "Bill" Woods, son of the late Homer F. and Golda Mae Etheridge Woods, was born in Bollinger County, Missouri on Sept. 4, 1945, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Oct. 2, 2015, at the age of 70.

He had lived in Dexter most of his life. He was a member of the Elk General Baptist Church near Broseley and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and picking up pecans.

Surviving is one sister, JoAnn Harmon of Mississippi; two nephews, and close friends, Peggy Spence and Judy and Delbert Pruett. Other family and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Woods; one niece, Kim Hamlin and one great-nephew, Tyler Shay Woods.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held on at 1 p.m. in the Chapel with the Rev. Dan Ross of Silva, Mo., officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
