BERNIE, Mo. - The Bloomfield Wildcats and Campbell Camels pulled off opening-round upsets at the eight-team September Showdown baseball tournament Saturday at Bernie.
No. 5 seeded Bloomfield beat No. 4 seeded Cooter 4-0 and No. 6 seeded Campbell beat No. 3 seeded South Pemiscot 5-2.
Top-seeded Bernie improved to 20-0 with a 5-1 win against Neelyville in its quarterfinal and No. 2 seeded Bell City beat No. 7 seeded Puxico 5-2 in its quarterfinal.
Bernie plays Bloomfield in the first semifinal Tuesday at 4 p.m. The second semifinal between Bell City and Campbell follows at about 6 p.m.
The winners advance to the championship, which is slated for Thursday at 7 p.m.
