Bernice T. Dutton, daughter of the late Ira V. Thompson and Bessie Crane Thompson, was born on Feb. 28, 1919, in Bloomfield and died on April 17, 2015, at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter at the age of 96.
Mrs. Dutton was of the Baptist faith. She had been the owner of a beauty shop in Dexter and she and her husband were owners of the Moonlight Motel in Dexter.
On July 3, 1954, she and Elmer Dutton were united in marriage in Corinth, Miss. Mr. Dutton preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 1995.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis Dutton of Houston, Texas and David Dutton of Dexter; one daughter, Jolene Walker of Sikeston; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Corlew.
Visitation and funeral services were conducted at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home on Monday, April 20, 2015. Interment followed in the Walker Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
