Dani Faye Autrey, daughter of Mildred J. Autrey and the late Billy G. Autrey, was born in Sumter, S.C. on Feb. 27, 1958, and died March 29, 2015, in Boise Idaho while in VA hospice care. Dani was an Air Force "Brat" and was raised in South Carolina, Alaska, Alabama, Missouri, New Mexico, then eventually returning to Missouri to graduate from Dexter High School in 1977...

Dani Faye Autrey, daughter of Mildred J. Autrey and the late Billy G. Autrey, was born in Sumter, S.C. on Feb. 27, 1958, and died March 29, 2015, in Boise Idaho while in VA hospice care.

Dani was an Air Force "Brat" and was raised in South Carolina, Alaska, Alabama, Missouri, New Mexico, then eventually returning to Missouri to graduate from Dexter High School in 1977.

She joined the United States Air Force following high school where she was trained in sheet metal fabrication. She moved to Korea and was a singing member of the U.S. Air Force Tops in Blues Performers. After her stint in the Air Force ended, she lived in Washington State, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Idaho. She lead an active life as a performing artists, artist and gallery owner with her late husband Kevin Cox, and an emergency dispatcher in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Following Kevin's death, she moved to Idaho in 2014 she was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. After a courageous battle she died at the age of 57.

She is survived by her mother, Mildred Autrey of Dexter; three sisters, Linda Elliott (Dave) of Mountain Home, Idaho, Mary Smith (Gary) of Aurora Colo., Andrea Whiteside (Andrew) of Scotland; two brothers, Patrick A. (Marcy) Autrey of Manassas, Va., and Patrick R. (Janice) Autrey of Dexter.

Dani was preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Cox and her father, Billy G. Autrey.

Dani's wish was to be cremated and interred with fellow veterans in Boise, Idaho.
