The Dexter seventh grade volleyball team took home the top prize at the eight-team Poplar Bluff Invitational Saturday. Dexter qualified for the gold bracket by taking first in Pool B at the event. Dexter beat Doniphan 25-11, 25-7 in its first pool play contest, Advance 26-24, 25-15 in its second pool play contest and Bloomfield 25-6, 25-8 in its final pool play game...

Dexter qualified for the gold bracket by taking first in Pool B at the event. Dexter beat Doniphan 25-11, 25-7 in its first pool play contest, Advance 26-24, 25-15 in its second pool play contest and Bloomfield 25-6, 25-8 in its final pool play game.

Dexter followed with a 25-8, 25-10 victory against Zalma in a gold bracket semifinal. Poplar Bluff beat Advance in straight sets in the other semifinal.

Dexter improved its record to 7-0 with a 25-20, 22-25, 25-14 victory against Poplar Bluff in the title game of the tournament.

Dexter visits Bernie Tuesday and hosts Advance Thursday.
