For one evening in April, downtown Dexter will take a step back in time. Golden oldies will be played, poodle skirts and saddle shoes will be back in style and parked up and down Stoddard Street will be classic cars, trucks, motorcycles -- and even antique tractors and boats.

It's the second annual "Cruisin' for Kids" event. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Stoddard County Children's Home.

The April 25 event is billed as a family affair, with concessions and games for the entire family, along with prize drawings and raffles throughout the evening. The fun begins at 4 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m., the classic vehicles in the show will go on a "cruise" of Dexter. Music will be provided by Hot Rod Nights.

The first 50 pre-registrations for the Cruisin' event will receive free T-shirts. Additional T-shirts may be purchased during the downtown event.

Another similar Cruisin' event is planned for late September.
