James Barry Crosby, Jr., son of the late James B. Crosby, Sr. and Phyllis Land Crosby was born on May 18, 1959, in Woburn, Mass., and died on Nov. 5, 2014, at SoutheastHEALTH Center of Stoddard County in Dexter at the age of 55.
Mr. Crosby had worked as a tool and die maker at L & M Manufacturing in Fisk and was a resident of Dexter. He enjoyed woodworking and was a very proud grandfather.
He was first united in marriage to Teresa Luebrecht on June 26, 1981, in Booneville, Mo. She preceded him in death on Sept.18, 2009. On Jan. 27, 2012, he was married to Carline Carter in Benton. Mrs. Crosby survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James Lawrence Crosby and Blaine Allen Crosby and his wife Megan all of Dexter; one daughter, Tamara Dawn Crosby of Dexter; one brother, David Crosby of Bossier City, La; two sisters, Patty McDougal and her husband Will of Wolcott, N. Y., and Diane Collins and her husband Jim of Crimes, Okla.; one step-son, Jimmy Hampton, Jr. of Dexter; one step-daughter, Carla Harris of Doniphan; and five grandchildren, Makinley Crosby, Aurora Hampton, Donna Underhile, Beth Underhile and Faith Underhile.
Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at 2 p.m. with Dwight Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield.
