Mitchell "Mitch" Calvin Conner, son of the late Calvin Granvil Conner and Betty Stoker Taylor of Dexter, was born on June 29, 1961, in Dexter and died on Oct. 11, 2014, at his residence in Cape Girardeau at the age of 53.
Mr. Conner worked as a network administrator at Associate Electric in New Madrid and he was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Desert Storm. He attended the University of Missouri at Rolla and later attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. He loved traveling, riding motorcycles, and was an adept computer technician. He loved playing his saxophone, and he especially loved his mother and sister.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Candy Conner of Dexter; his step-mother, Mary Lou Conner of Circle City; and three half-sisters, Tina Riggs of Bloomfield, Rhonda Tilly of Poplar Bluff and Shelly Clark of Circle City.
Visitation was held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, Oct.16, 2014, at 2 p.m.
Interment followed in the Dexter Cemetery with full military honors.
Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
