Carl Francis Robbins, age 101, of Dexter, died on Oct.13, 2014, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.
He was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Greenville, Mo; son of Marion Francis and Emma Florence Myers Robbins.
Mr. Robbins retired from the Chevrolet Manufacturing plant in Flint Mich., and was a member of the Sugar Tree General Baptist Church in Bernie.
He served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII where he earned six bronze stars for Central Europe, Air Offensive Europe, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and the Ardennes Campaigns.
Survivors include two sons, David M. (Laura) Robbins of Flint, Mich., and Joe Robbins of Dexter; two daughters, Teresa Chadwell of Vassar, Mich., and Cathy Hill of Joplin, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, Leo, Oscar, Clarence, Clacy, Cletus, Clemo, Claude, and Cecil and two sisters Maulie and Adeline.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral services will then be conducted at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Joe Ogelvie officiating. Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery near Essex, Mo., with full military honors.
