The Bloomfield Wildcats baseball team tallied three runs in the top of the seventh inning to collect a come-from-behind 4-2 victory against Bell City Wednesday afternoon.

Bell City scored a run in the first and third to build a 2-0 lead after three innings.

Bloomfield cut the deficit to 2-1 when Matt Gibbs was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth frame.

Noah Vandiver, Tyler Battles and Caleb Pulley collected RBI hits in the top of the seventh to put Bloomfield on top 4-2.

Vandiver finished 3 for 3. Battles went 3 for 4.

Vandiver earned the victory for Bloomfield. He threw 70 pitches in six innings of work.

Tim Hector earned a three-out save. Hector retired the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 hitters in the Bell City lineup in the bottom of the seventh inning after the Cubs loaded the bases with nobody out.

Bloomfield improves to 1-1 with the victory. Greenville beat Bloomfield 7-2 in the WIldcats' season-opener Friday.

The Wildcats play Holcomb Saturday at noon and Bernie Saturday at 2 p.m. Both games are scheduled to take place at Bernie High School.
