Wannetta Louise Robins the daughter of the late Richard and Mada Ward Cave was born in Rockford, Ill., on Jan. 11, 1938, and died at her home in Edgemont, Ark., on July 28, 2014, at the age of 76.
She was raised in Dexter by her maternal grandparents Henry and Myrtle Ward. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1956 and on Feb. 24, 1957, was married to her high school sweetheart, Bryon Louis Robins in Detroit, Mich. They were a U. S. Air Force family for over 31 years and enjoyed assignments in many state-side bases including Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri and New Mexico as well as an overseas assignment in Okinawa. After retirement they lived in Absecon, N. J., and for the past 15 years have resided in Arkansas.
Wannetta was a wonderfully talented artist in various painting mediums and also enjoyed arts and crafts. Christmas gifts each year for her children and grandchildren were beautiful handcrafts and quilts which she had made for each one individually. She was a loving mother to her daughters and totally dedicated to her grand and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Byron of the home in Arkansas; four daughters, Leigh Ann Lozano of Waxahachie, Texas, Andrea Lynn Steiger of Fairview Heights, Ill., Lisa Gaye and John Nichols of Swansea, Ill., and Lanis Gail Robins of Dallas, Texas. Five grandchildren and five great grandchildren and many brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Memorial services for Wannetta will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Family Funeral Service of Heber Springs, AR 72543.
