CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The 13-year-old Missouri Babe Ruth state tournament takes place July 17-20 at Shawnee Park in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Southwest Ozark, Dexter, Mineral Area, Cape Girardeau and Boonville are competing in the five-team double-elimination tournament.

Mineral Area played Cape Girardeau July 17 at noon and Southwest Ozark played Dexter July 17 at 2:30 p.m. The winner of the Mineral Area-Cape Girardeau game takes on Boonville, who received a first round bye, July 18 at 2 p.m.

The first championship is scheduled for July 20 at 1 p.m. An if-necessary winner-take-all championship would follow July 20 at 3:30 p.m.

FRIDAY, JULY 18

Game 3: Winner Game 1 vs. Boonville, 2 p.m.

Game 4: Loser Game 2 vs. Loser Game 1, 4:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, JULY 19

Game 5: Winner Game 2 vs. Winner Game 3, noon

Game 6: Winner Game 4 vs. Loser Game 3, 2:30 p.m.

Game 7: Loser Game 5 vs. Winner Game 6, 5 p.m.

SUNDAY, JULY 20

Game 8: Winner Game 5 vs. Winner Game 7, 1 p.m.

Game 9: Winner Game 8 vs. Loser Game 8, 3:30 p.m. (if-necessary)
