Dexter fall sports schedules released

DEXTER, Mo. - 2014 fall sports schedules are set at Dexter High School.

The Dexter varsity football program is slated to open its season at Ste. Genevieve Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. The Dexter varsity volleyball team will open its season three days later when it hosts Farmington Aug. 25 and the Dexter varsity girls tennis team is slated to host Charleston in its season opener Aug. 26 at 4 p.m. The Dexter boys and girls high school cross country teams begin their respective seasons Sept. 6 at Jackson.

The 2014 Dexter varsity football schedule features no new opponents, but the order it plays teams has been altered.

In the 2013 season, Dexter played Sikeston in Week 3, Caruthersville in Week 4, Kennett in Week 5, New Madrid County Central in Week 6 and Charleston in Week 7. In the 2014 season, Dexter is slated to host Charleston in Week 3, visit Sikeston in Week 4, visit Caruthersville in Week 5, host Kennett in Week 6 and visit New Madrid County Central in Week 7. Dexter's opponents in Week 1, 2, 8 and 9 are the same as last season.

The Dexter varsity volleyball schedule features two new opponents. Dexter has added Farmington and Perryville to its schedule and will no longer play Scott City and New Madrid County Central.

The Dexter cross country teams' home meet is Oct. 25.
