Missouri Weekly Hay Summary Week ending 06/06/2014

Friday, June 6, 2014

While hay fields look good to the passerby, the baler is telling a
different story for most producers. Yields are being reported as much as
fifty percent lower than average for many grass hay producers. The supply
is moderate, demand is good, and prices are steady. The Missouri Department
of Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers and sellers.
To be listed, or for a directory visit http://mda.mo.gov/abd/haydirectory/
or for current listings of hay http://agebb.missouri.edu/haylst/ (All prices
f.o.b. and per ton unless specified and on most recent reported sales price
listed as round bales based generally on 5x6 bales with weights of approximately
1200-1500 lbs).

Missouri Regional Fescue Seed Prices (06/05/2014)

The 2014 fescue season is already looking much different
than a year ago. Although harvest may be several days away,
there is little optimism about the crop so far. Even with
tight supplies, the carryover from last year's bumper crop
has kept demand low and that is reflected in lower bids.
(Dry: Moisture 12-14% - Wet: Moisture greater than 14%)
(Prices per lb.)

Southwest, Northeast, Central, South Central, Northwest,
