KENNETT, Mo. -- An investigation launched May 21 after the arrest of a Kennet woman in Pemiscot County has led to the recovery of a large amount of personal items taken during storage shed burglaries stretching from Jonesboro to Risco.
The arrest of Lisa Williams for burglary started the investigation.
According to Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder, members of his office, the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Office, and the police departments in Hornersville, Malden, Holcomb, Kennett, Campbell, and Hayti pooled their resources and recovered the property.
A large quantity of it was recovered from a residence and storage area in Kennett at 101 East Harrison Street. Authorities also contacted people in a number of cities who purchased stolen items.
That property is being held at the Dunklin County Justice Center for identification by the owners.
Recovered were furniture, lawn equipment, compressors, pictures, tools, dishes, a sewing machine, china cabinet, and a large number of miscellaneous items.
Those who filed an incident report about their stolen property are encouraged to contact the law enforcement agency where the report was filed and inquire if their property was recovered.
According to Holder, most of the property will require personal identification because there are no serial numbers on it.
The investigation is continuing in an attempt to recover additional property.
Arrests are pending.
