KENNETT, Mo. -- A former Kennett police officer appeared in Division I of the Dunklin County Circuit Court Wednesday. Jeremy Crawford appeared before Judge Robert Mayer, and his case was continued to June 11.

Crawford pled not guilty earlier this month to five felony counts. He is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, theft, tampering with physical evidence, and acceding to corruption by a public official.

Crawford was arrested in December after he allegedly received a tip from a local drug dealer that he had just sold marijuana to an individual.

Crawford received a description of the vehicle, stopped it, seized the marijuana and released the subject. He allegedly returned the drugs to the dealer and received $100.
