A Dexter man arrested with two guns and an active meth lab has been released from jail to participate in a drug rehabilitation program.

Christopher Wilkerson, age 32, is charged with the Class C felony possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $100,000 cash only.

After being denied a bond reduction, Wilkerson was issued a temporary order of release on April 14 at 6 a.m. He was released to the custody of his stepfather in order to be transported "directly to treatment."

Upon completion of the treatment program, he is to be transported immediately to Stoddard County Jail.

On April 17, the conditions of his release were altered to allow Wilkerson to "fully participate in the normal course of treatment provided" at the University of Florida Health, Florida Recovery Center.

The court docket entry states that he shall reside in a "highly-structured and monitored client on-campus residential housing."

In all other respects, the initial order remains the same.

His bond also remains unchanged.

The incident leading to his arrest began when Stoddard County Sheriff's deputies, along with the Dexter Police Department and the SEMO Drug Task Force, served an arrest warrant at Wilkerson's home located at 803 Albert St.

According to Sheriff Carl Hefner, Wilkerson had a loaded revolver in his pocket when deputies arrived at the home. A sawed-off shotgun was also found within the residence.

In addition to the weapons, deputies found an active methamphetamine lab, an undisclosed quantity of methamphetamine and "numerous" drug paraphernalia items.

Three other individuals were found inside the home--all of whom were jailed.

William Clayton, age 22, of Barnhart, Mo. is charged with the Class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond for Clayton was set at $50,000 cash only.

Clayton was released from jail on his own recognizance with special conditions that were not immediately available. The order was amended to allow him to drive to and from (and in the course of) work.

Charles Stephens, age 51, of Dexter is charged with the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance. Bond for Stephens was set at $50,000 cash only.

Stephens remains in jail and is slated to appear before Judge Joe Z. Satterfield at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 24.

Kristi Jones, age 51, of Dexter, is charged with the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $50,000 cash only.

Jones also remains in jail and is slated to appear before Judge Joe Z. Satterfield at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 24.
