KENNETT, Mo.-- A Bell City man charged with sodomy will stand trial in June.

Shawn Al Green, who was arrested on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, is charged with two counts of the unclassified felony of statutory sodomy with a person less than 14 years old and the Class C felony of first degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Green appeared in a Dunklin County courtroom this week before Judge Robert Mayer.

At the hearing, a jury trial in the case was scheduled for Friday, June 27 at 9 a.m. A pre-trial conference will take place earlier in the month on June 11.

The charges brought against Green stem from interviews with his alleged victim that date back to December 2010. Those interviews involved the Missouri Children's Division and forensic interviewers with the Ozark Foothills Child Advocacy Center in Doniphan, Mo. Allegations of sexual abuse were reported between February 2009 and November 2010, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Green's arrest came following an investigation that has remained open and ongoing since the original allegations, during which time Green did not have access to the juvenile allegedly involved.

A person commits the crime of statutory sodomy in the first degree if he has deviate sexual intercourse with another person who is less than fourteen years old.

Missouri law states when the victim is less than twelve years of age, the authorized term of imprisonment upon conviction is life imprisonment or a term not less than 10 years.

On April 26, 2012, Green was released on his own recognizance, with special stipulations, as the case advanced through the system.

Several hearings were continued throughout the year and on Oct. 23, 2012, Stoddard County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Rehmer filed a motion to revoke Green's probation.

On Oct. 24, 2012 Judge Joe Satterfield considered the motion and revoked his probation. A warrant was then issued for his arrest due to "failure to abide." The later warrant allows Green no bond.

On Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, Green was arrested in Texarkana, Texas.

He remains in custody at this time.
