The group "Save Camp Latonka" is planning a work day to put some sweat-equity into cleaning up the camp. The work will begin at 8 a.m., Saturday, April 12, at the camp in Wappapello, and lunch will be provided for all volunteers. Donations are also being sought to help save the Girl Scout camp...

This tractor is on its way to Camp Lantonka, compliments of Baker Implement Company. Camp Latonka has been serving Girl Scouts in Southeast Missouri for 53 years. Paul T. Combs, pictured with members of Girl Scout Troop 714 in Kennett, said it is Baker Implement's way of supporting the campaign to save Camp Latonka.

Donations are also being sought to help save the Girl Scout camp.

The list of needed items includes: 100 pressured treated 2x4s, 100 pressured treated 4x6s, 25 sheets of plywood, 33 outdoor ceiling fans, nails, screws, brooms, metal trash cans, dish towels, cleaning supplies, hand soap, dish soap, five large Dutch ovens, five water coolers, kitchen utensils, sports equipment, archery equipment, fishing poles, and life jackets.

Donations can be brought to Camp Latonka on the work day.
